About the Hopkins Center
Known affectionately as “the Hop,” the Hopkins Center is one of New England’s leading performing arts venues—bringing together music, theater, dance, and film under one roof. Initially designed in 1962 by Wallace K. Harrison, the architect behind New York’s Lincoln Center, this icon of mid-century design just reopened in Fall 2025 after a 2-year, 128 million dollar renovation to its stunning performance spaces.
Set at the heart of Dartmouth’s campus, the Hop has long served as a crossroads between artists and audiences, where emerging voices, student performers, and globally recognized performers share the same stage. Its programming spans classical traditions and contemporary experimentation, making every visit feel distinct. From chamber music and jazz to student-led productions and visiting ensembles, the Hop offers a cultural calendar that continues to endure.
