Vermont Institute of Natural Science

Located 20 miles from the Hanover Inn, the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) in nearby Quechee, Vermont, is dedicated to promoting understanding of the environment and local wildlife, and rehabilitating and releasing wildlife and birds. Families of all ages will enjoy participating in educational activities, programs, shows and camps designed for the wildlife enthusiasts, including scavenger hunts, nature trails and interactive exhibits.

  • What programs are available for families?

    VINS plays host to the VINS nature camps, plus live raptor shows, and scavenger hunts. Special events and educational programs are held throughout the year. Reservations should be made two weeks before your visit.
  • What are the seasonal hours at the nature center?

    November 1 to April 15, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; April 16 to June 17, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; June 18 to October 31, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
