Hanover Inn has as illustrious a history as Dartmouth College, the hotel's current owner. The property was originally a tavern in 1780, rebuilt as a hotel in 1901, and extensively renovated in 2011.
The neo-Georgian structure holds invaluable treasures like Dartmouth's alumni memorabilia, original artworks from the Hood Museum, old New Hampshire furniture, and the 2,800-pound signature handcrafted granite table and fireplace adorning the lobby. The hotel is currently a proud member of the Historic Hotels of America.
