Howe Library: Jay Craven Filmaker

Filmmaker Jay Craven will talk about his 28-year collaboration with the late Northeast Kingdom writer Howard Frank Mosher. Craven's talk will be followed by a screening of his first Mosher feature film, Where the Rivers Flow North, starring Rip Torn, Tantoo Cardinal and Michael J. Fox. Rivers tells the story of an old Vermont logger and his Native "housekeeper" and mate who face the extinction of their way of life when a power company announces plan to build a dam that will flood their land. The film played at the Sundance Film Festival and was a finalist for Critics' Week at Cannes. The evening will end with an audience Q&A.
