September
Localvore Wednesdays – Zins
The Upper Valley Localvores, a group dedicated to promoting the benefits of locally grown food, is sponsoring a September Localvore month. Every Wednesday evening, a special prix-fixe dinner will be offered in Zins, using locally grown and produced ingredients and foods. Join us in Zins to savor the bountiful foods of our region, creatively prepared and presented by our talented team of chefs.
September Seafood Month in Zins
The wonderful fish and shellfish available to us in New England are plentiful this month, so we feature a selection of the best in the market every Thursday and Friday evening in Zins. One of the local favorites is our New England Lobster and Clam Bake, which includes a 1 ½ pound lobster, steamed clams, locally produced bratwurst, corn on the cob, and new potatoes. All this plus a selection of special seafood appetizers and entrées, served from 5:30 until 10:00 p.m. every Thursday and Friday in September.
“Coach’s Corner”
This fall, going Green takes on a whole new meaning. WNTK, “Talk Radio” (FM 99.7) and Upper Valley Radio (AM 1490), broadcasts from Zins winebistro every Wednesday evening this fall and winter. Tune in to Coach’s Corner, featuring Dartmouth Associate Director of Athletics Drew Galbraith in conversation with special guests including Dartmouth athletic team coaches and players, and with listeners calling in. Better yet, join us at Zins and be part of the live radio audience, and have an opportunity to be heard and ask your questions. We’ll offer our full nightly menu, including a variety of creative appetizers, entrées, and sandwiches, plus desserts from our in-house pastry shop, and we’ll add some special selections created just for this evening. Coach’s Corner is broadcast from 7 – 9 p.m. every Wednesday during Dartmouth’s fall and winter terms.
October
October is Harvest Bounty Month in Zins winebistro
The growers and food producers of our region have so much to offer, and we are delighted to present their bountiful harvest to you throughout October. We offer a special prix-fixe dinner every evening this month, featuring fresh ingredients from our local and regional friends. Choose from several appetizers and entrées, and conclude your feast with a dessert from our in-house bake shop. This is Upper Valley and New England dining at its best! Serving nightly from 5:30 – 10:00 p.m.
A Hanover Inn and Harpoon Octoberfest Dinner in the Daniel Webster Room

Our old friend Scott Shirley, Brew Master at Harpoon Brewery in nearby Windsor, Vermont, will once again present a celebration of the season, Harpoon-style. Scott will bring an assortment of special treats directly from the brewery and lead a fun and informative tasting. We’ll follow with a four-course Autumn dinner, each course accompanied by one of harpoon’s award-winning beers (and including, of course, their wonderful Octoberfest ale). An Evening of Italian Wines and Cuisine in the Daniel Webster Room
with special guest Sophie Daniels from the Opici Import Company

For nearly a century, the Opici name on a bottle of wine has stood for high quality, consistency, and value. The Opici Import Company represents award-winning wines and spirits from Europe and Australia, including a range of Italian wines bottles under the Opici label as well as by some of Italy’s most respected winery names. Join us for an evening of wonderful Italian wine and food, with our special guest presenter Sophie Daniels from the Opici Company. Sophie will lead a tasting and discussion of a selection of wines, which will be followed by a five-course dinner of Italian cuisine created and prepared by our talented team of chefs. Each course will be paired with one of Opici’s fine wine offerings. Seating is limited, so we recommend you make reservations well in advance of this evening in order to assure availability. November
November – a month of Thanksgiving in Zins winebistro
Our local area and the New England region offer a wealth of foods and beverages for the enjoyment of those of us fortunate to live here as well visitors to Hanover. Throughout the month of November, we give thanks for the talents and hard work of our friends who grow and produce this bounty. Our nightly dinner menu will feature special creative presentations that showcase these wonderful ingredients. We have invited these growers and producers to stop by and say hello, so look for them when you visit us, they will be pleased to meet you and discuss their products.

In this month of Thanksgiving, we invite you to join us in giving thanks for all our blessings, and to reach out in help to those who are not as fortunate. The Inn is pleased to join our friends at Lebanon, New Hampshire’s Poverty Lane Orchards in presenting a dinner to benefit the Upper Valley Haven.
The Haven is a non-profit human services organization located in White River Junction, offering emergency shelter for families, a food shelf, clothing room, and educational programming to those struggling to meet their basic needs. All the Haven’s services are provide free of charge to those with a demonstrated need.
We invite you to a harvest dinner created by the Inn’s chefs, prepared using ingredients from many of our local and regional growers and producers, provided for this benefit event through their generosity. The menu showcases the delicious apples grown by Poverty Lane Orchards, and includes their fruit in every dish, served with their wonderful ciders. Stephen Wood, proprietor of Poverty Lane, will be with us to talk about the role of Poverty Lane in the area’s agricultural efforts.

Thanksgiving Dinner at the Hanover Inn
The traditional elegance of the Daniel Webster Room is a fitting ambience for a gourmet Thanksgiving feast. Join us for our annual prix-fixe dinner in celebration of the holiday, with a choice of appetizer, salad, choice of entrée, and dessert from the Inn’s pastry shop. The wine list in the Daniel Webster Room is an annual recipient of the “Wine Spectator” Award of Excellence.
Seating for Thanksgiving Dinner is available from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m., and is usually fully booked before the big day, so an early call for reservations is recommended. Seating may be reserved by calling the Inn at 603.643.4300.
Thanksgiving Evening Buffet in Zins winebistro
Zins, our comfortable, contemporary bistro, offers a bountiful evening buffet from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. Thanksgiving evening. Select from a display of soup, appetizers, salad, entrées (including, of course, the traditional turkey with all the “fixings”) and desserts from the Inn’s bake shop. Holiday Parties
We invite you to consider the Hanover Inn for your Holiday party. The Daniel Webster Room, our dramatic, traditional fine dining room, can accommodate groups of any size, from intimate dinner gatherings to parties for 150 or more. Our Chefs are always happy to help design a special menu perfect for your function, and our Beverage manager is available for wine and beverage consultation.
Zins winebistro serves a creative eclectic menu of small plates, salads and appetizers, and a variety of entrées. We welcome smaller groups to join us in Zins, and can also offer the Zins menu in private rooms.

The Groaning Board

The Daniel Webster Room
In Colonial days, our early settlers celebrated the Holiday season with a feast known as the “Groaning Board”. The name stems from reports that the table groaned from the weight of all the food. Here at the Inn, we replicate this elaborate meal with a buffet of tables laden with seasonal treats, presented in the “great kitchen”, our spacious service area, lighted by candles and decorated for this special meal. Enjoy a splendid array of appetizers and raw bar selections, salads, entrées, and decadent desserts, and bask in the warmth of this wonderful evening. New Year’s Eve at Zins

We ring in the New Year at Zins in style, with a celebration of great contemporary American cuisine paired with a tasting of wines specially selected from our award-winning cellar. Our Chefs are creating a very special prix-fixe menu for this evening, and our Wine Director has chosen some exciting bottles from which we will pour with each course.
